Coronavirus: Learning Disability & Other Disability Support
In these challenging times, many organisations are still providing support to individuals with learning and other disabilities. Please see the services below for support with disabilities.
Organisations:
- National Autistic Society – Coronavirus Resource Page – Includes resources and tips for autistic people and families, information on benefits and employment, going out and shielding, education and school and much more
- National Autistic Society – Autism Helpline 0808 800 4104 (10am-3pm, Monday to Friday).
- Disability Resource Centre – Offering services such as phone sessions to help learn digital skills, support with finances, life skills, benefits, employment and training support, etc
- CASBA – If you care for an adult with a learning disability, or you yourself as a Carer has a learning disability, CASBA is an independent organisation that can help with friendly phone calls, essential shopping, advocacy, etc. They can be reached on 0121 475 0777, casba@btconnect.com
- ChatterPack – Voluntary-run special educational needs & disabilities hub with an array of tools and ideas to support learning at home
- CONTACT – Advice and support for families with disabled children, including help and advice with education, financial and legal matters – 0808 808 3555
