We support discounted energy bills for low-income households

We've signed an open letter calling for discounted energy bills for low-income households
Metabolic Support UK, along with 95 charities and patient organisations are calling upon the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP to introduce discounted energy bills for low-income households. This action was led by Scope, Age UK, Fair by Design and National Energy Action and aims to prevent people falling into fuel poverty which is particularly important as from April 2023, the number of fuel poor households is expected to rise to 8.4M across the UK.
Scope states: “Life is already more expensive when you’re disabled, with extra monthly costs of nearly £600 on average.”
Through our cost of living survey, we identified that our communities are unduly affected by the current economic climate and are generally living in low-income households due to a multitude of factors relating to inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs).
Let’s challenge this together. Click the buttons below to read and sign the open letter!
